Miriam Gronwald and Olga Jakob present their paper dance performance DEFACE on 06.07.2023 at the opening event of the festival papier & klang, at 20:00 in the atrium of the Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus e.V. in Berlin-Mitte.

Thin, colourful squares of paper - a simple everyday material that we are familiar with and come into contact with every day - are glued to the floor in stacks in several layers on top of each other. The top layer is white, followed by the coloured papers. 

Sheet by sheet, Miriam Gronwald lets a huge expanse of paper emerge in the space together in a common dance rhythm. The white paper grid begins to expand through the dancing and fill the whole room with movement and colours. As if by chance. Surfaces shift, colours mix, existing things are transformed, the visible becomes invisible and vice versa.
